Shipping, Insurance & Returns
We are best organized to ship within the United States. Unless Jackal Relic's shop is closed for vacation, we generally ship within 1-3 business days of your order.
Our preferred method is to ship via USPS (United States Postal Service). Jackal Relic uses first class or priority shipping in order to limit the time the parcel is in the USPS ecosystem. Most items reach their destination within 1-5 business days following drop-off by us to the Post Office.
All products over $50 in value are fully insured. Our shipping markup is minimal, and any markup collected is used to cover the cost of shipping materials and supplies. After years of doing this through the eBay store, we have found that the damaged or lost parcels occurrence rate goes up significantly the longer it takes the item to go from seller to buyer. Jackal Relic does not use standard ground shipping, media mail, or other less dependable options, because we desire to minimize customer unhappiness and shipping mishaps.
We like to recycle, so we often use clean shipping materials that are carefully stored from prior purchases made by the store. We pack your items very carefully so they arrive to you safely, using a combination of carefully-cut layers of cardboard, bubble wrap, and packing peanuts.
In some cases we can ship internationally. Please email us if you are an international customer and we can develop a custom shipping program for your order. We reserve the right to refuse to ship to some locations outside of the USA. The rates for shipping generally differ from those in the USA, and upon arrival your package may be subject to international duties or taxes, which will be your responsibility.
RAW books are shipped at the following rates:
1-2 books: USPS First Class Mail $6.00
3 books: USPS First Class Mail $7.50
4-10 books: USPS Flat Rate Envelope $10.00
11-15 books: USPS Priority Mail Medium Flat Rate Box $18.00
SLABBED books are shipped at the following rates:
1-3 slabbed books: USPS Priority Mail Medium Flat Rate Box $18.00
More than 3 slabbed books: Shipped in multiple Medium Flat Rate Boxes as necessary at $16.00 per box (3 books max per box).
Shipment of all orders valued over $50 require insurance. The Post Office destroys and loses parcels regularly. Although we have never had such a mishap when shipping to our customers, we have plenty of horror stories we can share for parcels we have purchased online and had shipped to the store!
All books are insured prior to shipping. All orders are tracked. Orders over $100 may require a signature at the time of delivery so we can be sure the order got to you safely.
JACKAL RELIC RETURN POLICY
We want you to be happy with your purchase! Returns will be accepted within 14 days of delivery under these circumstances:
1. We mistakenly ship you the wrong book (rare!); or
2. There is a defect with a book which was either unknown by both parties (the defect is not apparent in the listing photos) or if was not visible in the listing photos and was mistakenly not disclosed by us. Also, for raw books, we will accept a return if the stated grade is disputed and we are unable to reach a consensus with you.
3. Should you decide you don't like a book for your own reasons (buyer's remorse), we will still honor a return within the 14 day return notice window. However, you will need to pay the cost to ship it back to us and insure it.
In the event of a return, the book’s condition must have not changed since you received it. Should the book sustain any damage while it is in your possession, or be damaged during shipping back to us, we will not accept the return request.
Graded books are not accepted for returns due to grading disputes, because these books are certified by a third party.
Don't worry! If we make a mistake, we will refund your money along with the shipping cost, and tax collected. Finally, refunds will be issued shortly after we receive the item back safely and verify that it remains in the condition it was in before you purchased it.
TRANSIT DAMAGE -- IMPORTANT!
Any damage to an order during transit must be submitted to the insurance company. If the box is damaged upon its arrival please clearly photo document its condition before you open it and throughout the un-boxing process (this is required, or we will be unable to accept the return request). If the contents are damaged please let us know as soon as possible, but certainly within 14 days of delivery. Returns will not be honored after 14 days of delivery receipt. Upon receipt of a notice from you about a product damaged during shipment, we will begin the claims process with the insurer, and keep you informed of our progress with the claim. Although our involvement will be prompt, we cannot specify a timeframe for claims reimbursement, as that process will be conducted by a third-party insurer.
